Management team

SagaMedica is a close team with a diverse background:

Professor Dr. Sigmundur Gudbjarnason

Dr. Gudbjarnason is a professor emeritus of biochemistry and former president of the University of Iceland.

He has been interested in the effects of bioactive compounds found in fruit and vegetables for many years.

In 1992 Dr. Gudbjarnason started research on Icelandic medicinal herbs which led to the founding of SagaMedica in the year 2000.

Thrainn Thorvaldsson

Thrainn is CEO and co-founder of SagaMedica and has an M.A. degree in marketing from the University of Lancaster in the UK.

He has extensive marketing experience, both on the Icelandic domestic market and in exports to both Europe and N-America, as well as experience in food production.

 

 



Elin Oskarsdottir

Elin is assistant to the CEO and has a Cand. Oecon degree in business administration 

 

 

Magnus Olafsson

Magnus is in charge of accounting and has a Cand. Oecon. degree in business administration

 

 

 

 

Dr. Steinthor Sigurdsson

Steinthor is head of production in SagaMedica and has a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry.

 

 

 

 


Perla Björk Egilsdottir

Perla is the director of domestic operations. Perla has a B.Sc. degree in biochemistry and marketing experience from the pharmaceutical industry.

Kristinn Leifsson

Kristinn is the director of online marketing and has a B.Sc. degree in business administration.
