Enlarged prostate

Normal prostate size is generally something similar to that of a walnut. After the age of 40 the prostate tends to grow in volume and an overwhelming majority of older men have an enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH.

Enlarged prostate symptoms

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, as the condition is also called, may or may not produce any symptoms. However, there is a multitude of symptoms related to it.

Symptoms of prostate enlargement :

  • Night-time urination (nocturia)
  • Weak urine stream
  • Trouble starting and stopping urination
  • Urgency to urinate
  • Dribbling after urination
  • Bladder not emptying
  • Straining to urinate
  • Frequent urination within a short time frame

Generally speaking, people should always consult a doctor when they experience problems related to urination.

Prostate enlargement may result in a variety of diseases if left untreated, and although it is very prevalent in older men, it is by no means something to ignore.

An enlarged prostate left untreated may result in:

  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  • Bladder stones
  • Kidney stones
  • Kidney damage
  • Urinary retention

It is worth noting that benign prostate hyperplasia does not increase the risk of prostate cancer.

Natural remedy for enlarged prostate symptoms

SagaPro is a herbal supplement used for treating nocturia and frequent urination due to an enlarged prostate or overactive bladder. While SagaPro does not shrink the prostate, it relaxes smooth muscle cells in the urethra and bladder, thereby reducing the need to urinate.
