Clinical study on SagaPro
A clinical study on the Icelandic herbal supplement SagaPro has now been completed. Research physicians and SagaMedica are now working on a scientific article on the findings for publication in a peer-reviewed paper in an international science journal. Every effort is now being made to have the paper published as soon as possible. Preliminary data suggests that the findings will have considerable impact on the marketing of SagaPro and SagaMedica’s opportunities for further growth abroad. According to the study, SagaPro is a safe and well-tolerated treatment. Further results will be presented in a science journal. As usual in cases like these, findings will initially be published in a peer-reviewed paper.
The purpose of the study was to research SagaPro’s efficacy on the frequency of bathroom trips at night due to nocturia in men. The study was approved by both the Icelandic Medicines Agency and the National Bioethics Committee and performed by Encode Ltd. The clinical part of the study was performed by two Icelandic doctors: Hrefna Gudmundsdottir, a specialist in internal medicine and nephrology, and Gudmundur Geirsson, a specialist in urology.
SagaPro is produced from Icelandic Angelica and has been the company’s leading product since being introduced in 2005. It was recently launched in North America and is now available in both Canada and the United States.
This particular study is a notable landmark in Icelandic academia and important for the Icelandic natural products industry as a whole, as it is the first study of its kind to be performed on an Icelandic natural product. The project was awarded a grant from the Technology Development Fund in Iceland.
