150 SagaPro samples sent to Gimli

19 Oct 2009

SagaPro given to guests at the New Iceland Heritage Museum in Gimli, Manitoba.

In the latter half of the 19th century, a large part of the Icelandic population emigrated to Canada due to hardship. Now, more than a century later the „New Iceland“ community devotedly celebrates its Icelandic heritage. Yesterday, the NIHM held a ceremonial dinner and we were invited to send SagaPro samples, which were distributed to the guests.

So, 150 Canadians with some sort of ties to Iceland were given SagaPro that evening, in a nice envelope with information from us and with a tongue-in-cheek message which caught everyone's attention. Building new markets is a very exhausting effort, but we hope that with this type of unconventional, "guerilla marketing approach", we can catch the eyes and ears of Canadians, many of whom have some connection to Iceland through their families.
