SagaMedica collaborating with Erla Björg Arnardóttir

Gardening firm collaborates in harvesting

We’re so happy to collaborate with Erla Björg Arnardóttir, a professional gardener, in the harvesting of angelica. Erla is an absolute dynamo when it comes to harvesting and gathered almost 2 tons of angelica during the course of only a few days.

She runs a gardening operation and owns a great deal of land near Fludir, South Iceland with a lot of potential for us in the future.

The angelica herb is extremely abundant in these parts. In fact, the majority of vegetables grown in Iceland are grown in or around Fludir.

Erla worked with her parents in the family firm Grænt Land (e. “Green Land”).
Amusingly enough, her company is called Grænna Land (e. “Greener Land”), a name that does some justice to her ambition of trying to outperform her family’s firm.

Angelica collected in the rain

Erla gathered angelica during rainy days this season. Actually, the rain was next to torrential the first days in August. Erla and her colleagues needed to have an extra pair of water-resistant clothing as it, presumably, didn’t resist that amount of water all too well.

Erla is very knowledgeable of harvesting technology and other aspects of the process which will no doubt help SagaMedica to meet growing demand for the herb.
